Installation summary

Please read the entire document first before unboxing and installation. If you have questions, or you will face challenges, please contact us so that we may resolve those hurdles before you begin the installation. Your installation will consist of the following.

  • Installing the Inseego cellular internet modem
  • Installing the DCDC CS1 server
  • Installing the Wattbox smart power device
  • Configuring the Theatre Management System (TMS) so that it connects to the DCDC Server
  • Taking photographs of the installed equipment

Install the DCDC Server into Your Existing Rack

  • The best location for the DCDC Server is as close to the TMS switch as possible, with an outlet close by. The most ideal place is to install it in the same rack as the TMS switch.
  • The server only requires two rack screws. The screw locations are indicated by the yellow circles in the picture below.

  • Once you screw the server to the rack, plug the power cord to the back of the Server, but do not plug the power into an outlet yet.

Install the Wattbox Smart Power Device

  • Unbox the Wattbox
  • Plug the power cable into the Wattbox
  • Plug the power end into your outlet
  • Turn on the switch, it will light up amber

Install the Inseego Cellular Internet Modem

  • Unbox the Inseego Modem


  • Plug the power cable into the Inseego Modem
  • Plug the power end into the Watbox outlet labelled Controlled 2
  • When you first plug in the modem, it will run a software update, which may take up to 30 minutes. During this time the LED indicator light on the front of the unit will flash yellow.
  • After 30 minutes, if the LED indicator does not blink or show a steady color of green or blue, report your findings to dcdc@cinesend.com.

Making Ethernet Cable Connections

  • Plug two different Ethernet Cables in each of the connections on the back of the Inseego Modem
  • Plug the other end of one of those cables into the Network input of the Wattbox

  • Plug the other end of the other cable into the ETH3 input of the DCDC Server
  • Plug an Ethernet cable into ETH2 input of the DCDC Server
    • Plug the other end of that cable into your Theatre Management System Media Switch

Powering on the DCDC Server

  • Plug the DCDC Server Power cord into the Watbox outlet labelled Controlled 1
  • Switch on the Power Switch that is located in the back of the DCDC Server
  • If the server lights up, there is nothing further to do, if the server does not turn on, hold down the power button in the front of the DCDC Server until it comes on

Documentation

  • Once you're done, take photographs as described below and e-mail them to dcdc@cinesend.com
  • This is very important, because our NOC may need to reference these in the future to provide telephone support to exhibitors.
  • Photo 1: The bottom of the modem, clearly capturing all text.
  • Photo 2: The bottom of the Wattbox, clearly capturing all text, specifically the Serial Number and MAC Address.
  • Photo 3: The back of the server showing the Serial Number clearly.
  • Photo 4: A wider picture of the back of the server showing the connections.
  • Photo 5: The TMS switch showing the ethernet cable plugged in. Please indicate the port number in the copy of the email so that we know which cable it is. If you are able to mark the cable in the photograph, please do so.
